GARRY
GARRY is a vintage style comedy that evokes the nostalgia of the The Dick Van Dyke Show and humor of shows like Seinfeld and The Larry Sanders Show. The show's title is also a tip of the hat to the great Garry Shandling.
*None of the actors listed below are attached to this project except Steven James Wylie. They don't know it exists. They have no interest in knowing it exists and are frankly way to expensive to make this project feasible. However, they give you a flavor for the characters in this story.

Who is Garry?

Garry Bell is a 42 year old bachelor experiencing existential loneliness, while still grappling with the death of his mother. He took a run at Hollywood, doing stand up and working as an actor in Los Angeles but came home to be close to his mom as she passed away. It's been two years and Garry has not gone back to LA. Garry has a vision for a throw back variety program in the spirit of Ed Sullivan called, The Garry Bell Show. However, at the moment, the dream is dying. For now he's treading water flipping houses in his home town.

Our Show Host
This host could change week to week or remain the same for the shows duration. A folksier version of Bryan Cranston's performance in Astroid City embodies the vibe we're after.

Business and production notes...
The first season includes 8 episodes. They will release on a weekly basis. Each episode has a corporate sponsor announced by our show host at the end of each episode and then there is a musical performance. Why??…. It reinforces that this is "TV LAND". There's still magic here and musical performances of old songs are fun especially if performed by modern artists. Corporate sponsorships can help fund the show and again it is a nod to the formats used by the great shows of years gone by.
Garry is not shot in front of a live audience but has a laugh track to enhance the viewing experience and it’s also a subtle nod to tv classics like The Love Boat.
Target demographic is age 30 to 75. If anyone younger enjoy’s it we’ve officially won all the trophies and made all the money.
